Urban Cone- Photograph

Indie Synth Pop/Rock at its finest. Photograph is a fun song that kind of feel like Phoenix went on a date with Temper Trap. Loving the bouncing feel of track laced with interesting rhythmic synths. Not that surprising that more great music is born out of Stockholm. Looking forward to hearing more from these guys.

Lana Del Rey -Video Games

Sorry to post something so dark on Friday but Lana Del Rey sucked me in with her vocal sound so quickly, it was to hard to resist. Video games showcases Del Rey’s haunting vocals and her ability to craft actual heartfelt lyrics.(what a thought?) Simply a beautiful song. Oh and those Lips are pretty crazy. She looks great too. Check out her other songs she has posted. Totally worth your time.

Yacht- Dystopia (the earth is on fire)

This disco, pop, hipster, dance anthem will surely be a jam the DJs spin all summer long. Yacht, from Portland Oregon, formed in 2002 and since has shared the stage with some major acts including LCD sound system, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend and The yeah yeah yeahs. I watched a video of theses guys performing at Coachella that sold me on this song and band in under 20 seconds. Check it below.  Straight Fire. Literally.

Hyde & Beast -Pictures in the Sky

Dave Hyde (Futureheads) and Neil Bassett (Golden Virgins) are two drummers who have captured that feel good almost old school detroit sound on their new song Pictures in the Sky. Feels like it could have been written by George Harrison. I would keep and eye on these guys- the next Black Keys?

Loving this track “birds” by The Serenades. Feel good Indie/Pop sound. I don’t know much about them other than they are Swedish, and it certainly appears that this is where all the good new music comes from these days. I can’t imagine this not being a massive success in the states especially in all obvious hipster areas. Sounds like a newer Shins or Belle and Sebastian. It won’t be long until everyone i know will claim they have been listening to The Serenades for years and “I can’t believe you guys have never heard of them.” Yeah, you are cool, we know.  We have to at least wait until the EP is available on US itunes or order the vinyl. (available globally) Until than this song is Free99. Enjoy.
